If you like staying indoors all by yourself
Finishing the bottles on the liquor shelf
You’re sure to fall in love with quarantine.
If you like the taste of take out food
And binge-watching Netflix while in the nude
You’re sure to fall in love with quarantine.

Food’s all sold out – toilet paper, too!
Getting antsy, and yet still you’re torn,
‘lest Covid make you wish that you weren’t born!
After ninety evenings, and noons and nights
You may go insane and start to feel all right
You know you’ll fall in love with quarantine!
Let Facetime, Skype and Zoom
Livestream sanity’s doom
from quarantine!

a note to this: i had NO IDEA how much of a dirge the original, famous recording of this song was. As deliberately-paced as it is in my memory, the Wroath clan made it sound like an Irish jig in comparison to the original. God knows what was going on in 1957, but that this song was popular is proof that whatever was going on wasn’t very good.
