Clapboard - Full Frontal Nerdity

Random Musing

this could probably be a couple of tweets

Do normal people know about the facebook login change that happened over the summer?  I never thought about it until I sat down to FB to look at something on Casey's account and she used her email address to log in.  When I asked her about it, it was like she'd never heard of the username thing.  Facebook's main (only?) strength is the fact that normal, non-geeky people feel like they can use it, and if we're splitting it now into People Who Follow Nerd News and People Who Don't, FB may have cause to worry.

Also, I like Obama, but he's been a year on the world stage and done nothing, as far as I can tell to end either war we're in.  WTF.

Also, also, I slept through the moon's destruction last night.  I'm sad - I wanted to see that fucker one more time.

Also, also, also, Happy Friday.

failing to update

Okay, here I am again, on Nathaniel's Birthday, chillin' back at the Forum in Inglewood, trying to kill time until someone comes that I'm supposed to meet.  I have literally nothing to do here for a few hours, but that's the way of Inglewood - no one here has anything to do.  I wrote the beginning of another post that I may re-write in the near future, but I've been too damn busy to mess around with "real" writing over the last few days. Fucking busy-ness.

HowSweetTheSoundToday, it's How Sweet the Sound, a travelling gospel show.  Yesterday, I went with Candice to help out with a cooking show concept that wasn't really all that good, but someone must've been looking to spend money, because they're on the way with the thing already. Silliness.  Between that and this, I'm getting my fill of live, untelevised stage shows this week.

Anyway, now I have to go to friggin' Detroit on November 6th and miss Bootie and Casey's birthday weekend shenanigans, whatever they may be, all for some work.  Work?  Well, I could use the money, right? Who couldn't?  These days, turning down any kind of paying work is sort of like killing a puppy - just abhorrent, and something no sane person would do.

Happy October!

So it's October.  Welcome to it.  This is my favorite month.

October should be where August is, but we were just too lazy to rename it when the Gregorians added January and February to the year.  Weird. (Imagine how short Winter is without January and February, too.)  It's Breast Cancer Awareness month, which promises lots of people talking about and showing off boobs and quite a few people offended by talking about and showing off boobs.  Fun times.  October is the month of Octoberfest, the time when you can get fruity beer and no one will care because you're just celebrating your culture, man.  October also houses the birthdays of both my Sylva cousins and my dad and of course, me.  It's got 31 days and ends in Halloween, which is rad, and tends to start warm and end cold with cool inbetween.  I like it.

Now it's time to take care of some administrivia - laundry and the like.  Fun times for all.

Girls with Blogs are hot

I just saw this on a sidebar while I was searching for info on how to reformat my add-to-cart area on ShoeHardware, and I agree with it, at least in theory.  Not Facebook, not twitter, and not tumblr, but actual, written blogs.

That's all.

Oh, no it's not.  I'm off to watch the Eagles play in a little while.  Stupid NFL network.  Anyone over on that side of town and wanna meet up?  Rawr.

I am an insomniac

Good morning!  It's 4:44am and I'm here at my computer, having read the news, worked on some video and written a little bit of an outline for a story I've been postponing.  Next I'll probably play some video games, then I'll come back and clean off the ol' Desktops (physical and digital) before going to my 7:30am breakfast meeting.

What. The. Fuck.

Ah well.  Just found out that mom's coming by for a day or so tomorrow, which is nice, if a little unexpected.  Dunno what we'll do.  It'll have to be cheap because I'm broke, per usual.  Tomorrow, I have to pay a ticket online, which will no doubt cost a fortune.  Effin' lame.  Also, what did I spend $400 on?  There's a charge on my account saying that I wrote a check for $400, but I have no idea why.  Not good.

What else?  Went to the afterparty for the Roast, so here's a picture from that.  Well, after the jump.
