Car Troubles
Nothing trip-threatening, really, but a cracked windshield from road debris only a few hours into day #1 is pretty lame. Also, a malfunctioning tire pressure sensor had us pull over to check tire pressure just to find it to be fine. The manual, predictably, is useless on details on when the tire pressure light comes on or why, other than to say "low tire pressure." Dumb.
Cousins
Epic Fail! We didnt give any notice because we didnt know ourselves how long wed be on the first part of the trip, but neither J-cousin answered or even called us back within 24 hours! Aww! Thus, no dinners with family on the trip. Matt is a sad guy.
New Apartment
Luxury! Nice layout, awesome windows, well-appointed kitchen, and the building has underground parking and an upper-floor pool, rec-area, WiFi, gym.... Alexandria is a cool town, close to DC and closer to Drews office.
Friends
Last night, Scott & Sharon. Tonight, Megan & Ket. Possible S&S sighting again, as well as possible Mika. NYC has no commitments yet, but Im going to try to rustle up the Usual Suspects®. If youre one of them, keep me in mind.
So what else? Im here another day or so while we get things set up, then head up to New York on the train to work. Ive got proposals to write and people to call, and Im trying to be good about keeping in touch while on the road so that I dont lose potential business. No promises, but its working so far. At least I think so.
